However, this will give you a very good idea of just some of the capabilities of this system and should help demonstrate that the Orca screen reader running on Linux is a viable alternative to users who are visually impaired or Blind. During this review, we demonstrate web browsing using Firefox, word processing using Open Office, Email using Evolution and instant messaging using Pidgin.

It is a hand held device that has been designed for indeviduals who are Blind as a mobility aid. It can be used in certain situations independently but easily clips onto a cain to extend the functionality of that traditional mobility aid. It can also be used in conjunction with a Guide dog to provide more information to users who are navigating unusual environments.
